Abstract
Scientific researchers and cultural workers in the arts institutions are unfamiliar with the characteristics of each other’s work and turn a mutual deaf ear. As a result, there is an enormous distance between the self-oriented field of research and the struggle for survival on the work floor. The best way to transfer scientific knowledge to the field is to publish the most important data in an easily accessible format on a regular basis, for instance in a local cultural index as is planned in the Netherlands.
