Samenvatting
This paper outlines the trends of a new cultural policy for the 90s. Its point of departure is Austria, a country in which culture is a central factor in identifying positive national awareness. Also the Österreichische Kulturdokumentation organizations's objectives, development and structure, created and defined in particular in connection with the European cultural diploma course, are discussed specifically in this paper. Furthermore a survey is given of the main organisations operating in similar field in Austria in order to provide a national context for the activities of Österreichische Kulturdokumentation. The survey is followed by a short presentation of three major international institutes of similar scope: the Zentrum für Kulturforschung in Bonn, IRMO in Zagreb and Boekman Foundation in Amsterdam. |
