In the late 1960s and early 1970s protest theatre exploded throughout the western world as young theatre workers sought alliances with the labour movement. Most of the groups broke down, but some politically-engaged theatre workers endured, such as Ground Zero productions in Canada, the British Banner theatre and the Melbourne workers theatre in Australia. |
