Examination of the decentralisation processes in the cultural sector in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The research concentrates on three aspects: the distribution of financial responsibility between the state, the regions and the municipalities; the responsibility for regional cultural institutions; and the reorganisation of the public cultural administration at the local level. As theatres, orchestras, museums and public libraries constitute the core of cultural policy in the Nordic countries, they are in the focus of the analyses in the project. |
