Samenvatting
The report presents a new integrated model of the cultural heritage sector, defining its scope, dynamics and boundaries in relation to existing cultural, statistical, occupational and economic conceptual definitions, policy principles and frameworks. This study concludes that the cyclical and integrated nature of the cultural heritage landscape suggests a self-sustaining, dynamic eco-system, in which the functions are nonhierarchical. This “ecological” approach focuses primarily on social and human aspects but also considers its economic features. The ecosystem concept will be further interrogated and refined over the remaining period of WP2 within the workplan of the project. |
