Samenvatting The annual report of UNIC detailing the key cinema trends in Europe. Almost 1.3 billion cinema tickets were soldacross UNIC territories in 2018, with EU Member States alone welcoming more than 950 million visitors. Cinemas continue to reinvent themselves and deliver state-of-the-art experiences. Furthermore, the sector continues to improve access to cinema for all, as digitisation has facilitated the greater use of subtitling and audio-description technologies for deaf and visually-impaired customers inside the screening room. Although limited data is available, estimates suggest that women are underrepresented at almost all leadership levels in the European cinema industry. |
