Samenvatting Cultural actors from the Caucasus to the Middle East are experiencing political and social turbulences. This has cultural repercussions such as facing growing instability and isolation and the conditions seem to be unfavourable for the sustainability of independent artistic endeavours. However the authors witnessed the development of a new creative development in the region. The region invents new forms and structures and is transforming the existing structures. A discussion was organised by Santralinstanbul, bringing cultural actors from the independent arts scene from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey to initiate a collaborative framework within regional neighbours. Publication is an outcome of this initiative.
