Samenvatting The glass ceiling is an imperceptible but for many impermeable set of barriers blocking entry or advance in the workplace in Britain. Within the organisational field of the arts Blacks and Asians have encountered such a glass ceiling, which is unacceptable in a society based on the principle of equality and the recognition of cultural diversity. Overview of ethnic groups working in the arts in the UK and London; organisational responses to Black and Asian under-representation; evaluation of training and development; individual experiences and accounts; racism and the burden of representation. |
