Samenvatting
In celebrating its 60th birthday, the Dutch Association of Theatres and Concert Halls (and Festivals), VSCD, decided to host the half-yearly meeting of Pearle* in the Netherlands, June 2007. The conference will focus on four main aspects of government support for the performing: state and market;small, smaller, smallest: upsizing and cooperation; understanding and negotiation: examples of a good contract between government and the performing arts; beyond marketing: education & outreach: reaching the public, selling tickets, arousing interest for the performing arts. Conference reader, with country profiles of the European countries concerning the performing arts, with data about public funding and theatre policy in Austria, Belgium (Flanders), Bulgaria, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany (NRW), Greece, the Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and the United Kingdom.
