Samenvatting Outcome of the research programme entitled 'Culture and the knowledge society'. This study focusses on the importance of art and entertainment services in the post-industrial economy. The authors assume that art and entertainment is a subset of a more general set of experiences. And memorable experiences comprise more than the arts and entertainment. One important conclusion reached in the book is that there is no economically meaningfully way to distinguish art from entertainment, if such a distinction is to be based on the inherent qualities of products.
