Samenvatting
So far, few studies deal specifically with innovation in the cultural industries. To overcome this omission, a framework is presented which can be used to compare the organizational, institutional and procedural conditions of innovation in cultural industries. Processes of production and consumption in the cultural industry should not be considered as diametrically opposed. Rather they should be seen as part of a ‘cultural circuit’ where products are understood as reflecting and shaping consumers’ behaviour while being embedded in processes of mediation and valorization.
