Issue on the consequences of instrumental museum and gallery policy, containing papers exploring the origins of instrumental museum and gallery policy and places it within the wider intellectual and political landscape. The second part of this special issue consider ways of conceptualizing the roles museums and galleries play in society. This is central to one of the most significant policy issues within the sector: the need to find a way to demonstrate the value and impact of museums and galleries to government, whitch is both robust and defensible. |
