Samenvatting Chan and Goldthorpe perform a great service by examining the relationship between cultural consumption and social stratification beyond the arena of music where omnivorousness has most often been studied. They also bring to the analysis a much more sophisticated examination of the components of social stratification. Peterson, however, has several specific reservations about the manuscript as it now stands. His comments focus on the operationalization of concepts and, more briefly, on the interpretation of the findings. |
