Samenvatting
The New Millennium Experience - an exhibition on the theme of time sited in a fibre-glass dome on the Greenwich Peninsula adjacent to the Prime Meridian - was the centrepiece on Millennium celebration in Britain. The Dome had been controversial for several reasons, mostly for its financial vialbility and the lack of interest of the public. The project was almost bankrupt. Extra grants were necessary to keep it open during the year 2000, public resources that might have been better spent elswhere. Facts and figures of the project, if possible, because for instance the exact value of corporate sponsorship is impossible to ascertain due to commercial confidentiality (probably less then 20 per cent). The dome did not meet its official targets in terms of visiting, revenue and sponsorship.
