How to explain the rapid change in the Australian art museums context over the last two decades, and what consequences follow for art museums directors as a result of this change. Analysis of the tensions in art museums with regard to directorial role and the primacy of leadership in promoting change. Change leaves some question marks about the gap between the rhetoric of policy and the reality of cultural practice in art museums. |
