Samenvatting
Author received the 2008 Cultural Policy Research Award for the research proposal Evaluating the socio-economic impacts of selected regenerated heritage sites in Europe, using four case studies from the UK, France and Poland (The Lowry at Salford Quays (UK): evaluating the socio-economic impacts of Heritage Lottery Fund’s Heritage Grant Programme, Liverpool Rope Walks (UK): evaluating the socio-economic impacts of Heritage Lottery Fund’s Townscape Heritage Initiative, Kazimierz, Krakow, Poland: evaluating the socio-economic impacts of cultural regeneration in Central Europe and Lille, France: evaluating the socio-economic impacts of European Capital of Culture, 2004. The research makes a contribution to the critical analysis of socio-economic impact evaluation methods in the selected sites and draws attention to methods of evaluation and their results, in juxtaposition with the goals and expectations of the community.
