Samenvatting
The paradox of the cultural sector is that artistic activities are intrinsically concerned with maintaining their creative integrity and that they also have an economic dimension. It is usefull for managers of theaters to find out what makes people go to the theatre. The aim of the article is to propose a model for measuring the motives of theatregoers. In the first section, the construct will be defined in the light of a review of the theoretical goals in the context of theatre attendance. The second section offers a definition of the a priori dimensions of theatregoing.
