Samenvatting
Copyright and related rights in the Member States of the European Union depend increasingly on Community law adopted in the form of 'Directives', the term used to designate a text on Community law (law derived from the Treaty of Rome) which requires Member States to attain certain objectives by 'transposing' that text into their law or national regulations in accordance with their constitutional procedure. The draft discussed in this article seeks the closer alignment, rather than the complete harmonization, of national laws concerning copyright and related rights as regards certain aspects linked to the 'information society'.
