Samenvatting
Technological change has created a dazzling array of new products and media for entertainment and transformed the economic structure of production and distribution. The arts, entertainment and electronic media industry includes four sectors: live performing arts, recordings, motion pictures and television and radio. Employing about one million people in the US, the entertainment industry is heavily unionized. Performer unions have been growing and technician unions have been shrinking, reflecting both technological displacement and a shift to nonunion production in some sectors of the industry. |
