Samenvatting
The link between the political centre on the east coast and the movie industry on the west, was as tense as it was strong, as movies and entertainment became targets for the political rhetoric of 'family values'. Focusing on the two decades leading to the beginning of the twenty-first century, Eleven authors examine central issues in American politics and society through films of the period. Ronald Reagan was the first Hollywood actor to occupy the presidency, but it was Bill Clinton who was closest to Hollywood in terms of political and fundraising contacts.
