Samenvatting The prime aim of the symposium was to focus on the responsibility of the artist and those who teach art in to uphold and disseminate basic human values, and their duty to resist at all times the forces which seek to undermine and to compromise that integrity. Another aim was to gather experience and expertise on how to help artists and art institutions in areas where unrest and conflict make it difficult or impossible to develop artistic work. Keynote speeches were contributed by Judith Herzberg, Otto Kolleritsch, Györgi Konrád, Jef Lambrecht, Henry Meyric Hughes, Doron Rabinovici, Martin Rennett, Faruk Sijaric and Coen Stork. Their speeches are printed. |
