Samenvatting The author shows how the emergence of postindustrial social structures and postmodern ideological orientations has deepened capitalistisc behaviours and attitudes in the cultural sphere. Capitalism justifies the segmentation of the visual art markets and the flexible commodification of aesthetic objects and values. Art dealers take the role of taste makers, museums transform into sales emporiums, visual art represents money, a sale investment instead of cultural education. |
