Samenvatting
The Games Monitor reports about the facts, trends, and developments in the Dutch games industry. While game studios around the world have taken significant hits, the Dutch games sector saw its revenue grow by 10.5 percent between 2021 and 2023, reaching a record €763 million. The number of active companies increased slightly to 614, but the workforce shrank by 269 people to 4,291. Many jobs disappeared in the mid-sized segment. Employees are increasingly working for either very small or very large companies. Despite the positive figures, Dutch game companies are increasingly concerned. The 2024 edition also pays attention to other topics such as the sentiment and use of generative AI, sustainability practices, and game educational programs.
