Epilogue : From transfer to co-creation of knowledge in the cultural sector

The goal of research is to improve our understanding of cultural practice, while cultural practice must account for its activities by referring to a rationality based on the best knowledge available. Merely improving communication will not help if both parties talk at cross-purposes, which seems to be a bigger problem than communication as such. A larger emphasis on the co-creation of relevant knowledge is most likely to improve mutual recognition and reduce the gap between academia and the cultural field.
