Samenvatting
Survey of the hegemonic process of neo-liberal globalisation ideology and its implications for culture and cultural policy. Culture is now saturated with a market-oriented mentality that closes out alternative ways of thinking and imagining. Examples in the arts and broadcasting. Urban regeneration and the experiences of the annual European Capital of Culture competition, with the experiences of Glasgow 1990 and the plans for Liverpool 2008.
