Recipes for the future

Sixteen culture makers sketch how things can be different in the future. Their visions for the future came about as a reaction to the disruption of their plans for 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemie, and have one thing in common: the ambition to change and to widen the limits of our imagination. The visions and recipes of these writers, academics, philosophers, singers, visual artists, theatre makers and designers working in the Netherlands and Germany, paint a heterogeneous picture. They develop through themes such as real utopias, sustainability, the new domesticity, and the role of cultural institutions in our society.
Zestien cultuurmakers schetsen hoe het in toekomst anders kan. Hun toekomstbeelden zijn ontstaan als reactie op de disruptie van de COVID-19 pandemie en hebben één ding gemeen: de ambitie tot verandering en het verleggen van de grenzen van onze verbeelding. De visies en recepten van deze in Nederland en Duitsland werkende schrijvers, wetenschappers, filosofen, zangers, beeldend kunstenaars, theatermakers en ontwerpers tekenen een heterogeen beeld. Zij bespreken thema’s als reële utopieën, duurzaamheid, nieuwe huiselijkheid of de rol van cultuurinstellingen in onze samenleving.
