Rock 'til you drop: the decline from rebellion to nostalgia

In the 1960s and 1970s rock and rebellion went arm in arm. At the beginning of the 21st century a lot of the old days' rockers still perform on stage. In the author's opinion the musical generation which started out with pretensions to be world changers ended up merely as shortchangers of their original ideas. In his eyes they better stop performing and leave it to a younger generation to carry the torch of popular music.
